About Me

As a writer, I have attended many workshops and conferences and am lucky to have several fantastic critique partners who give me insightful advice for improving my work.

In addition to my writing experience, my career as a librarian has well-prepared me to become a published author. I’ve read countless reviews, recommended good reads to hundreds of patrons, and led dozens of book discussion sessions over the years. I am immersed in the world of new adult fiction releases. I also have the privilege of developing ongoing connections with readers, frequently discussing what makes them fall in love with a book.

Extensive training and experience have taught me how to: craft compelling pitches for new library services, appealing to perspectives of varied community stakeholders; plan and host programs large and small; and professionally represent the library at meetings and events. I have worked with many local authors and booksellers to host book launches at my library. I’m comfortable with public speaking, both live and virtually. Most importantly, my job has taught me resilience, how to do a lot with a little, and how to adapt to unexpected changes.

When my first book is published, I will encounter a learning curve as any debut author would. But my experiences as a librarian have given me a leg up on a career as a traditionally published author. I can’t wait to connect with the agent who falls in love with my voice and my stories, who will find wonderful homes for my books over the years to come.
